At Interstate Truck Driving School, our instructors and staff bring decades of experience to the table—from the road, the classroom, and even the state CDL testing office. 

Instructors and Leadership​

Bill Collins - Campus Director

Bill founded Interstate Truck Driving School in 1998 and continues to serve as Campus Director. With over 45 years of experience as a licensed CDL instructor, he’s trained thousands of students, including truck drivers, law enforcement, and first responders. Bill remains active in daily operations and advocates nationally for safety-focused driver training through his work with the Commercial Vehicle Training Association (CVTA).

Pat Ackerman - Director of Training

Pat has worked alongside Bill for more than 25 years and helps guide students through their entire training journey. He oversees scheduling, progress tracking, and driving assignments—and meets with each student individually to ensure they're staying on track.

Jason Searcy - Instructor

Jason brings 18 years of commercial driving experience with a perfect safety record. He trains students both in the classroom and behind the wheel, and also works as a racetrack announcer during the summer.

David McGuire - Driving Instructor

With over 20 years of experience hauling hazardous materials across the country, David focuses on safety, situational awareness, and helping students develop professional driving habits from day one.

Admissions & Student Support

Josh Winger - Senior Admissions Director

Josh handles incoming student questions, enrollment paperwork, and recruiter visits from more than 40 trucking companies. He also produces many of the school’s training videos and is a great resource for students exploring the industry.
